CE Cantwell & Associates, Inc., a Brattleboro, Vermont based computer forensics and electronic discovery firm, has established the Southern Vermont Digital Forensics Laboratory (SVDFL), a state of the art computer forensic laboratory in southern Vermont. A computer forensic laboratory is a highly specialized facility that provides forensic examinations of digital media, such as computers, in support of investigations and/or prosecutions. The new laboratory space includes offices, a state-of-the-art computer forensics lab, and uses EnCase forensic software - recognized and used by the courts and law enforcement, plus a secure storage vault for electronic evidence and equipment. CE Cantwell & Associates, through the SVDFL, now has the ability to examine all types of digital media using state of the art forensic equipment and software, which poistions them to be able to turn around e-Discovery data acquisition from computer systems at a faster rate, while maintaining the highest standards in evidence chain of custody and security. A certified SVDFL computer forensic examiner can assure that that all deleted, hidden and password-protected files are found and recovered. Perhaps even more important, a certified SVDFL examiner can establish and document a chain of computer evidence that is admissible in court.
